Howard County cover typography
I conceptualized and illustrated the typography for a cover story in the Baltimore Business Journal on Howard County’s planned expansion. The goal was to fill the space in the cover story tease without moving or tweaking the Baltimore Business Journal flag.
Print cover
Several iterations of the cover were done, with different letter sizes and organization. I had to be very specific about which letters were emphasized in a certain way so that it immediately read as Howard County. (Timeline: 2 days)
Instagram post
I reworked what I had on the print cover to best fit the swipe feature on Instagram posts. The letters had to be reorganized in order to be legible in this format, while still filling the space. The editors wanted to add a map provided by the county in order to illustrate the development space. I edited the map to fit our style and placed it at the end of the post. (Timeline: 1 day)
